This Mathematics course will closely follow the syllabus written for the CXC examination.
The course content is appropriate for students just starting Secondary School, up to and including those who are about to write the CXC Exam.
Where appropriate, the examples are first written out in step by step details, which is intended for you to grasp the concepts. The examples are then reworked, without all the details, and presents in the way you would normally write them.
For most topics, new approaches will be presented, which are intended to make Math easier to understand. While some of these approaches may not be in the standard format to which you are accustomed, you will learn to appreciate Math much more by practicing them.
The course is structured like so.
Lesson Name
Topic 1 Name
Topic 2 Name
… etc.
Quiz Name
For example:
3. Whole Numbers & Integers
3.1 Addition of Whole Numbers
3.2 Subtraction of Whole Numbers
… etc.
3. Whole Numbers & Integers Quiz.
Please allocate time to take the quizes, as they are practice questions on the Lesson at hand.
I will be assigning actual exercises for you to download, complete and upload for me to look at. You will receive “how to” instructions.
You will notice that I refer to both lessons and topics as lessons. The topics are the actual lessons, while the lessons are meant as introducitons. Please don’t let this confuse you. Feel free to call everything a lesson. I’m good with that.
Of course, if you need help, you may reach out to others, or myself, on the Math forum. I will be monitoring the forum, and so will get back to you in a timely manner. I also expect to be conducting live classes, so you may reach out to me then as well.
I will share rules, symbols and equations to be used in the lessons that need them.
I trust that you are able to relax, and have some fun learning. I did in my time in secondary school.
